Voice Actress Saki Ogasawara Takes Hiatus to Undergo Medical Treatment

My Hero Academia actress was diagnosed with stage 1 tongue cancer in early April

Voice actress Saki Ogasawara announced on Twitter on Monday that she was diagnosed with stage 1 tongue cancer in early April. She stated that she will go on hiatus from her voice acting activities while she has surgery and undergoes treatment.

Ogasawara added that because the cancer was luckily detected at an early stage, she will devote herself to her treatment so that she can send out her voice to her fans again as soon as possible.

Ogasawara has voiced Charuni Kusakabe in Heaven's Memo Pad, Azusa Nakajō in The irregular at magic high school, and Itsuka Kendō in the second and third seasons of the My Hero Academia anime. She has also had minor roles in such anime as Show By Rock!!, Girls und Panzer der Film, Humanity Has Declined, Dusk maiden of Amnesia, DIVE!!, and Date A Live II. She also voices the character Akane Nonohara in the The IDOLM@STER Million Live! smartphone game.
