Otakon to Host 3 Voice Actors from Fruits Basket Anime

The organizers of Otakon announced on Friday that the event will host Fruits Basket voice actors Makoto Furukawa (Hatsuharu Soma), Manaka Iwami (Tohru Honda), and Nobunaga Shimazaki (Yuki Soma).

Furukawa has also voiced roles in One-Punch Man (Saitama), That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Benimaru), Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life (Michitaka Sakai), Aldnoah.Zero (Shigou Kakei), Banana Fish (Shorter Wong), Fate/Apocrypha (Rider of Red), and Kaguya-sama: Love is War (Miyūki Shirogane), among others.

Iwami has also voiced roles in such anime as Maquia - When the Promised Flower Blooms (Maquia), Gamers! (Chiaki Hoshinomori), Children of the Whales (Lycos), revisions (Marin Temari), WorldEnd (Lakhesh), Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits- (Chibi), and Tada Never Falls in Love (Teresa Wagner), among others. She won the Best New Actress Award at the 13th Annual Seiyū Awards in March.

Shimazaki won the Best New Actor Award at the 7th Annual Seiyū Awards in 2013. He also voices roles in your name. (Tsukasa Fujii), Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club (Haruka Nanase), Black Clover (Yuno), Date A Live (Shido Itsuka), STARMYU (Riku Ageha), My Love Story!! (Makoto Sunakawa), and World Trigger (Hyuse), among others.

Otakon will be held at Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. from July 26 to 28. The event will also host rock band BRADIO as musical guests; former Studio Ghibli staff member Hirokatsu Kihara; composer Kaoru Wada; Studio Trigger staff members Hiromi Wakabayashi, Shigeto Koyama, and Hiroyuki Imaishi; hip-hop artist Shing02; singers Diana Garnet and Nano; voice actresses Kikuko Inoue and Sayuri Hara; voice actor Tōru Furuya; producers Masao Maruyama, Michihiko Suwa, and Shōichi Hotta; and directors Hiroshi Nagahama and Yoshiaki Kyougoku.
