Akita Shoten, BookLive! Launch New YanChanLive! Online Magazine

Magazine to publish chapters ahead of print debut for 3 new, 2 serializing manga

Publisher Akita Shoten and online bookstore BookLive! will launch on November 5 the new collaborative project YanChanLive! (Young Champion Live!), an online magazine that will publish new manga chapters one chapter ahead of their print serializations. The online magazine will debut with three new manga, as well as two currently serializing manga. The latter two manga are Yasutaka Fujimi and Shu Hirose's The Island of Giant Insects and Shinji Inamitsu, Rusty Soul, and Seneka Aruto's Seishokuki Aliens Meets Girls.

The three new manga are (from left to right in image above) Haruki's Hajimete no Sense., Mimana Orimoto's Bakuon!! Taiwan-hen (tentative title), and Tsuyatsuya's Tasogare no Ethos. Hajimete no Sense. and Tasogare no Ethos will both debut in print in the December issue of Young Champion Retsu on November 19. Bakuon!! Taiwan-hen will debut in print in the December issue of Bessatsu Young Champion on November 5.

Haruki's ongoing The Parasite Doctor Suzune manga inspired two live-action films in 2011. Haruki also draws the Sense. manga, which is also ongoing. Haruki draws the art for Masahide Ichijō's Koroshiya-san manga under the name Chiku, and that manga inspired a series of anime shorts in 2013.

Bakuon!! Taiwan-hen is a spinoff of Orimoto's original Bakuon!! motorcycle manga that will feature the original manga's characters heading to Taiwan to introduce the country's tourist spots and cuisine. Orimoto (Mahou Shoujo Neko X, Maid in Japan) launched the original manga series in Young Champion Retsu magazine in February 2011. Akita Shoten published the manga's 12th compiled book volume last December. A 12-episode television anime adaptation premiered in April 2016. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime, and Crunchyroll and The Anime Network streamed the series.
