Elex Media Licenses tutti!, Father and Son Manga

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Death God in Training Otsukare-chan manga also licensed

Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo revealed on Monday that it has licensed Ryo Katagiri's tutti!, Motoshi Kohara's Death God in Training Otsukare-chan, and Uchiko's Father and Son manga. The first volumes of all three manga will ship on Wednesday.

tutti! centers on Keito Raijō, a former musician and music geek who has given up playing his instrument due to a certain incident. When he enters high school, he is resolved to abandon music completely and walk a different path. But any time the topic of a discussion turns to music, he cannot help but keep talking on and on, and music never leaves his mind, such that when he happens to hear his school's concert band practicing ineffectually, he ends up inadvertently taking up the baton.

In the end, Raijō is persuaded by the concert band to join, and he agrees with the resolution to finally give up music once he hears "the highest applause." But standing in his way is the band's parallel, the school's orchestra, who have constantly placed highly in competitions.

Katagiri launched the manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine in 2015, and Shogakukan published the manga's third and final compiled book volume in January 2016.

Death God in Training Otsukare-chan (Shinigami Minarai Otsukare-chan) centers on the titular Otsukare-chan, a death god in training who is technically supposed to be claiming people's souls, but instead always makes mistakes and stumbles in a cute way.

Kohara launched the manga in Takeshobo's Manga Club magazine in April 2017, and ended it in November 2018. Takeshobo published the manga's second and final compiled book volume in December 2018.

Crunchyroll published the Father and Son (Chichi to Ko) manga in the West, and it describes the manga:

The unpredictable and wild son, Shou. And the former gangster, hands-on father who looks out for him, You-san. Follow the lively father and son pair, as their everyday life is sure to eventful. Won't you take a peek at this slice-of-life, slapstick but easygoing father and son comedy?

Uchiko launched the manga in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in 2013, and it serialized in both the magazine and on the publisher's Gangan Online website. The manga ended in March 2018. Square Enix published the manga's 10th and final volume in May 2018.
