Shin Ekiben Hitoritabi Train Food Gourmet Series Gets New Manga

This year's 21st issue of Futabasha's Manga Action magazine revealed on Tuesday that Kan Sakurai and Jun Hayase's Shin Ekiben Hitoritabi (A New Solo Journey for Station Bentō) manga will get a new installment that will launch in the magazine on January 21.
The original Ekiben Hitoritabi manga centers on Daisuke, a man who loves trains and the meals served on trains, and travels around Japan sampling the distinct dishes offered by different train lines. The Shin Ekiben Hitoritabi manga focuses on the character Nana.
Sakurai and Hayase's Ekiben Hitoritabi ran in Manga Action from 2006 to 2011, and Futabasha released 15 compiled volumes. The pair launched the Shin Ekiben Hitoritabi - Toritetsu Nana-hen (titled during serialization as Ekiben Hitori Musume) manga in Futabasha's Tabilista web magazine in October 2016, and Futabasha published the manga's first compiled book volume (seen right) on March 12.
The original manga inspired a live-action television series in 2012.
