posted on by Andrew Osmond
Also Berserk (1997) Blu-ray Steelbook, new Black Clover and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, standard two-part Blu-ray of Your Lie in April

On Monday June 1, MVM will release a Blu-ray Steelbook edition of Shinichiro Watanabe's 2004 series Samurai Champloo. It is described as follows:

"Death, betrayal, and.... hip hop! Mugen's a buck wild warrior: violent, thoughtless and a womaniser. Jin is a vagrant ronin: mysterious, traditional, well-mannered and very strong. These two fiercely independent warriors couldn't be more different from one another, yet their paths cross when Fuu, a ditzy waitress, saves them from being executed when they are arrested after a violent swordfight. Fuu convinces the two vagrant young men to help her find a mysterious samurai 'who smells of sunflowers.' And their journey begins.

"This outstanding animation is directed by Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Animatrix), designed by Kazuto Nakazawa (Kill Bill Vol. 1) and Mahiro Maeda (Last Exile) and powered by fresh sounds from Tsutchie, Fat Jon, Nujabes and Force Of Nature."

MVM is also releasing a Blu-ray Steelbook of the 1997 TV version of Berserk, based on the manga by Kentarō Miura. In the series, Guts, known as "The Black Swordsman" is a member of a group of mercenaries, the Band of the Hawk, in a violent medieval-style world. Led by an ambitious, ruthless, and intelligent man named Griffith, together they battle their way into the royal court.

Manga Entertainment will release Black Clover Season 2 Part 2 on Blu-ray and DVD. It is described as follows:

"Broken but not defeated. Now even broken arms can stop Asta! But when his injuries are beyond healing magic, this could mean the end of his journey. Except his magic is never giving up! Together, with his friends, they head to the Witches Forest to find a cure - or more trouble."

Manga Entertainment is also releasing Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Set Three on Blu-ray, carrying episodes 27 to 39 of the series. It is described as follows:

"Years before Boruto Uzumaki's fight against a man named Kawaki, the young Boruto and Shikadai Nara ride on top of a train with the latter reminding Boruto that tomorrow is their Academy entrance ceremony. Boruto sees a boy being bullied and defends him. They talk about their fathers with the boy, Denki Kaminarimon, revealing his father is a billionaire businessman in charge of Konoha's train system. Boruto encourages him to stand up to his father. Boruto returns home and is unsurprised to hear that his father, Naruto, is not home. Meanwhile Denki tries to stand up for himself but his father rejects him, saying Denki will win his approval by being strong."

Anime Limited will release a two-part standard Blu-ray edition of the music drama series Your Lie in April. The first volume (pictured right) will carry the first eleven episodes. The second volume (pictured left) will carry episodes 12 to 22.
