Netflix Adds Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU Anime in India on May 1

Netflix India is listing that it will stream Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU (also known as Higurashi: When They Cry - New), the new Higurashi: When They Cry (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni) anime project, on May 1. The service will also stream the second anime season based on Tadatoshi Fujimaki's Kuroko's Basketball manga on May 15.

Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU premiered on October 1. Hong Kong content distributor MediaLink Entertainment Limited's Ani-One YouTube channel streamed the anime in India as it aired in Japan. The manga adaptation by Tomato Akase launched on Kadokawa's Young Ace Up service on October 2.

The anime's second episode revealed the series' true title as Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU on October 9. Funimation reported the title as the series' "true" title "that the creators intentionally did not reveal to the world until Episode 2."

Returning cast members include Sōichiro Hoshi as Keiichi Maebara, Mai Nakahara as Rena Ryūgū, Satsuki Yukino as Mion Sonozaki, Mika Kanai as Satoko Hōjō, Yukari Tamura as Rika Furude, Chafūrin as Kuraudo Ooishi, Tōru Ohkawa as Jirō Tomitake, Miki Itō as Miyo Takano, and Toshihiko Seki as Kyōsuke Irie. Yui Horie is playing Hanyu.

The anime was originally scheduled to premiere last July, but it was delayed due to the effects of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on the production schedule.

Ryukishi07 and 07th Expansion are credited with the original work. Keiichiro Kawaguchi directed the series. Akio Watanabe (Monogatari Series anime franchise) designed the characters, and Passione (Citrus, Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers, High School DxD Hero) animated the project. Infinite produced the series. Naoki Hayashi (Black Fox, Citrus) was in charge of the series composition for the anime. Kenji Kawai (Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor, Mobile Suit Gundam 00) returned as the composer for the series.

Asaka performed the opening theme song "I believe what you said," and Ayane performed the ending theme song "Kamisama no Syndrome" (God Syndrome).

Netflix began streaming the first season of the Kuroko's Basketball anime on January 15.

Netflix describes the second season of Kuroko's Basketball:

Kuroko, Kagami and the rest of the Seirin High basketball team take on the strongest teams in the region in the Winter Cup tournament.

The first season of the anime aired from April-September 2012. The second season aired from October 2013-March 2014. The third season aired from January-June 2015.

The 30-volume Kuroko's Basketball manga serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 2008-2014. Viz Media publishes the manga in English.

The manga also inspired the Gekijōban Kuroko no Basuke Last Game film, which opened in Japan in March 2017. Crunchyroll is streaming the film.

Kuroko's Basketball The Encounter, the first stage play adaptation of the manga, ran for 21 performances in April 2016 in Tokyo. The second stage play ran in Tokyo and Osaka in June and July 2017. The third stage play ran in Tokyo and Osaka in April and May 2018. The fourth stage play titled Kuroko no Basuke - Ultimate Blaze ran in April and May 2019.
