Film opened in Japan in August 2017

Taiwanese film distributor Bees Factory Entertainment announced on Wednesday that it will screen Kimi no Koe o Todoketai, Madhouse's original anime film project, in Taiwan. The company did not reveal a release date for the film.

The film opened in Japan in August 2017.

The story depicts the worries, conflicts, and dreams of a high school girl in Shōnan, a bayside area of Kanagawa Prefecture south of Tokyo. Nagisa, a girl who is a little impatient because she cannot find her future calling, wanders into a mini FM radio station that has been disused for several years. On impulse, she tries to become a DJ, and her broadcasted words by chance unexpectedly reach people.

Naoyuki Itou (Overlord, Eiga Dokidoki! Precure Mana Kekkon!!? Mirai ni Tsunagu Kibō no Dress, 2002's Kanon, Digimon: Data Squad, Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu) directed the film at the studio Madhouse (Summer Wars, Chihayafuru, One-Punch Man), and Manabu Ishikawa (Welcome to Irabu's Office, Yozakura Quartet ~Hoshi no Umi~, Yozakura Quartet ~Hana no Uta~) wrote the script. Manga creator and illustrator Toshinao Aoki (Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan) designed the characters, and Aya Takano adapted the designs for animation. Akito Matsuda composed the music, and Tohokushinsha Films produced the film.
