Muse Asia announced on Friday that it has licensed the Dark Gathering and Insomniacs After School anime. It will announce distribution details for both anime at a later date.

The television anime of Kenichi Kondo's Dark Gathering manga will premiere in Japan in July.

Hiroshi Ikehata (FLCL Progressive, Kiratto Pri☆Chan, Space Battleship Tiramisu) is directing the anime at OLM. Shigeru Murakoshi (I'm Quitting Heroing, Zombie Land Saga) is overseeing the series scripts, and Shin'ya Segawa (Pastel Memories, Garakowa -Restore the World-) is the character designer. Kohta Yamamoto, Shun Narita, and Yūsuke Seo are composing the music. Other staff members include Taijirō Nagata as art director, Yuho Ando as director of photography, Takahiro Uezono as 3D director, Ritsuko Utagawa as color designer, and Kōhei Yoshida as sound director.

The manga centers on Keitarō Gentōga, who has the ability to be a spirit medium. In junior high school, he got someone else wrapped up in a spirit possession incident, and he has been a shut-in for more than two years. As he reintroduces himself to society as a private tutor, he meets a genius girl named Yayoi Hōzuki. Yayoi is instantly able to tell that Keitarō has skill as a spirit medium, and she invites him to go with her to a haunted location. The two then start their journey capturing evil spirits.

insomniacs
The television anime of Makoto Ojiro's Insomniacs After School (Kimi wa Hōkago Insomnia) manga already premiered in Japan on April 10 and is currently airing.

Yuki Ikeda is directing the anime at Liden Films, and Rintarou Ikeda (Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It, The Seven Deadly Sins: Imperial Wrath of The Gods) is supervising and writing the series scripts. Yuki Fukuda (Plunderer) is designing the characters. Yuki Hayashi (Haikyu!!, My Hero Academia, Gundam Build Fighters) is composing the music. Homecomings is performing the show's ending theme song "Lapse."

Viz Media licensed the manga for North America The company describes the story:

Two sleepless teenagers find kinship as they escape to their school's astronomy observatory.

Unable to sleep at night, Ganta Nakami is cranky in class and unpopular with his classmates. He discovers that the school observatory, once used by the now-defunct astronomy club, may be the perfect place for a nap—but he's not alone. Fellow insomniac Isaki Magari is willing to share the observatory with Nakami, and a friendship between the two begins as they bond over the most unlikely of things.

Dark rumors about what befell the members of the astronomy club keep people away from the school observatory, and that's what makes it the perfect sanctuary for Nakami and Magari to get some much-needed rest. Unfortunately, the school faculty can't allow its unsanctioned use. But if there were a new astronomy club, maybe these two insomniacs could have a place to call home!
