Anime Times Adds 'BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.' Anime on Prime Video

Anime Times announced on Instagram on Saturday that it is streaming the television anime of Yuumikan's Itai no wa Iya nano de Bōgyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu. novels on Amazon Prime Video in India. Anime Times will stream the series under the title BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.

Anime Times describes the story:

A big time newbie joins the popular virtual reality MMORPG NewWorld Online?! She nullifies all attacks, demolishes both monsters and players with her deadly poison skills! At first, even weak monsters can make her struggle, but… It doesn't… hurt?! Here starts her huge adventure with zero damage!

The anime premiered in Japan in January 2020. Netflix began streaming the anime in India in September 2020. The Muse India YouTube channel streamed the anime in April 2022.

Shin Oonuma (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, WATAMOTE) and Mirai Minato (Masamune-kun's Revenge, Sunohara-Sō no Kanrinin-san) directed the series at SILVER LINK. Fumihiko Shimo (Anima Yell!, New Game!) was in charge of series composition. Kazuya Hirata (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, Sunohara-Sō no Kanrinin-san) designed the characters and served as chief animation director.

The anime's second season premiered in January 2023.

Yuumikan began serializing the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let's Become Novelists) website in 2016, and is still releasing chapters of the story on the site. Kadokawa began releasing the story in print novel form with art by Koin in September 2017.

Jirō Oimoto launched a manga adaptation in Kadokawa's Comp Ace magazine in May 2018.
