Movielink (www.Movielink.com), the video-on-demand (VOD) service offering hundreds of Hollywood hit movies for legal download, will now offer STAR BLAZERS and Yamato anime classics through a deal with Voyager Entertainment.

STAR BLAZERS is renowned as the seminal anime creation that launched a worldwide craze and inspired decades of revolutionary Japanese animation. Additional titles coming soon include: "The Bolar Wars," as well as featured Yamato Films such as "Space Battleship Yamato," "Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato: In the Name of Love," "Space Battleship Yamato: The New Voyage," "Be Forever Yamato" and "Final Yamato." Movielink and Voyager Entertainment will launch co-marketing campaigns and promotions to highlight the titles available.

Our relationship with Movielink represents an exciting evolution of our business and will allow us to leverage the dynamic changes underway in the burgeoning broadband VOD marketplace."

"Anime's reputation for intricate storylines, stunning artwork and great soundtracks has captured the imaginations of a growing subculture of fans in the United States," said Jessica Algazi, Vice President of Content for Movielink. "Fans who grew up watching the original airing of the STAR BLAZERS and Yamato episodes as well as reruns will now be able find them on Movielink for viewing anytime, anywhere. We are very proud to bring this seminal addition to our fast growing library."

STAR BLAZERS was originally produced in Japan in 1974 under the title "Uchuu Senchen Yamato," and was dubbed for English-speaking audiences and aired on U.S. television as "Star Blazers: The Quest for Iscandar." "Space Battleship Yamato," the first movie based on the TV series, was released in 1977. "Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato" followed soon after as a movie and held the record as the highest attended animation movie in Japan. The movie was re-released in 1978, followed by the second television series, "The Comet Empire." "Space Battleship Yamato: The New Voyage," also called "The New Journey," was a television teaser for the theatrical release of "Be Forever Yamato." The third TV series shown in the United States was called "The Bolar Wars" and the last Yamato movie was titled "Final Yamato." In the STAR BLAZERS episodes, the characters find themselves at war not only with their main enemies, Desslok of Gamilon and Prince Zordar of The Comet Empire, but amongst themselves as well. In time, these rivalries fade and relationships form between some of the major characters.

Movielink is available to U.S. Internet users with broadband connections. Once customers are ready to rent a movie, they register with Movielink and pay for their rental via credit card. Download rentals are priced by the individual studio/distributor and range between $1.99 and $5.99. Movielink's Movies in Minutes(TM) feature lets customers begin watching movies within 2-10 minutes, or store movies for up to 30 days and experience unlimited viewing for any 24-hour period.
