ADV ANNOUNCES JULY 18 RELEASES

HOUSTON, May 17, 2006—ADV Films, the number one producer-distributor of anime in North America, is pleased to announce four new DVD titles set to hit the streets on July 18, including the second volume of Nanaka 6/17, volume six of Hakugei – Legend of the Moby Dick, volume four of Kaleido Star: New Wings, and a brand new thin-pack collection of Petite Princess Yucie.

NANAKA 6/17: REALITY! RIVALRY! RIDICULE!

From Queen of the Campus to Magical Princess!

ADV is proud to announce the second volume in the hilarious new comedy series featuring magical girls, high school hijinks and… head trauma? Get ready for a laugh riot when Nananka 6/17: Reality! Rivalry! Ridicule! goes on sale July 18.

Directed by Hiroaki Sakurai (Cromartie High School) and jointly produced by GENCO and J.C.Staff (Azumanga Daioh), Nanaka 6/17 is a high school comedy with magical charm. 17 year old Nanaka Kirisato has it all: she's beautiful, she's bright, and she's at the top of her class. But somewhere along the way, Nanaka lost touch with her classmates - including her best friend Nenji - who think she's become an arrogant snob! One day, in the midst of an argument with Nenji, Nanaka falls down a flight of stairs and gets seriously injured. The diagnosis is acute amnesia, and now Nanaka thinks she is six years old - and a magical princess! To add to the fun, she believes that Nenji also made a wish to become an adult. Let the magical misunderstandings commence!

Synopsis: Just when you thought things couldn't get any crazier, Nanaka and the gang are even more out of control! As Nanaka slips between 6-year-old delusions and 17-year-old reality, her buddy Nenji is reaching his wit's end. Does he prefer silly Nanka? Or serious Nanaka? Then, when a rival 6-year-old declares her undying love for him, it's kindergartener versus “kinda-kindergartener” – in an all-out, all-WRONG battle for Nenji's affection. And whether she's on a class trip to Kyoto, or an outrageous outing to a theme park called Pop'n Land, poor Nanaka can't escape constant judgment from her jealous classmates. She's funny! She's frazzled! And she's back with a vengeance in Volume 2 of Nanaka 6/17.

Nanaka 6/17: Reality! Rivalry! Ridicule! (SRP $29.98 DVD) is a DVD-only release including episodes 5-8, presented in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles. Extras include a special music video, plus clean opening animation, clean closing animation, and previews of upcoming ADV Films releases.
