Anime Conji Announces Artist & Animator, Rhode Montijo, as Guest of Honor

SAN DIEGO, CA, April 5th, 2013 – Anime Conji, San Diego's Anime Convention, welcomes comic book artist, writer and animator Rhode Montijo as a Guest of Honor!

Rhode Montijo is best known for his award-winning comic book Pablo's Inferno and for co-creating the worldwide sensation Happy Tree Friends. Mr. Montijo has been creating beloved children's books like Cloud Boy, and Super Grammar, which teaches concepts of grammar using superheroes.

His most inspired and passionate book, The Halloween Kid, is being developed as an animated holiday special. The Halloween Kid is about a mysterious masked boy who goes beyond his limits to defend Halloween. The special is being animated by Japan's SANZIGEN (Black Rock Shooter, Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, and Tiger & Bunny) and produced in collaboration with David Choe and Good Smile Company.

Anime Conji is delighted to welcome Rhode Montijo as a Guest of Honor to AC2013, coming to the Town and Country Resort in San Diego April 12th-14th!
