Sailor Moon Tribute Concert Returns To LA
NEW YORK, NY – March 22, 2017 – SERASYMPHONY: Sailor Moon Symphony, the orchestral tribute to Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon celebrates the release of its second album “Half Moon" and the 25th anniversary of the series with a special concert on Saturday, July 22, 8pm at the Aratani Theatre in Los Angeles.
The symphonic pop concert will feature popular songs from the 25-year musical canon of Naoko Takeuchi's signature magical girl series including "maboroshi no Ginzuishou~SILVER CRYSTAL," "La Soldier" (from the Sailor Moon musicals), "Kirari Sailor Dream!" (from the live-action series), "Eternal Eternity" (from Sailor Moon Crystal), and never-before-released music from the 1995 DiC dub as featured on "Half Moon." Anime, cartoon, and video game chamber ensemble iconiQ The Soundtrack Orchestra will perform the music with special guests.
An exclusive pre-concert "meet and greet" session will reunite several members of the music team behind the original 1995 DiC Entertainment dub including composers Michael Benghiat and John Miyagi Author ("My Only Love," "Oh Starry Night," "The Power of Love"), and the original singing voice of Sailor Moon Jennifer Cihi ("Carry On," "My Only Love"), among others. Ms. Cihi will also perform live with the orchestra.
SERASYMPHONY "Half Moon" concert will be performed at the Aratani Theatre located at 244 S San Pedro St, Los Angeles, CA 90012 on Saturday, July 22 at 8pm. Tickets start at $30.
