Super Dimension Convention Welcomes "Macross" Voice Actress Run Sasaki as Guest of Honor
LOS ANGELES, CA. (July 12, 2018) Super Dimension Convention announces Run Sasaki as a Guest of Honor. Known for her roles including Vanessa in the original "Super Dimension Fortress Macross" TV series, “Mimsy” in “Super Dimension Century Orguss”, and Alfin in “Crusher Joe”, Ms. Sasaki will join this year's convention for a panel and meet & greet.
Born in Tokyo and raised in Fukushima, Run's (pronounced "rune") professional career began after shortly after college when receiving a special honors award in an amateur voice acting contest held by Nippon Broadcasting System, Inc. In addition to her roles in “Macross,” Orguss” and “Crusher Joe,” Run became known for "Ginga Hyōryū Vifam", "Aura Battler Dunbine", " Brain Powered " and "Mobile Fighter G Gundam."
In the year 2000, Run moved to United States with her family and has since worked on voice-overs for both English and Japanese works in Seattle, including Microsoft, Nintendo, Nikon, and Getty Images. In 2007, she established professional Japanese and English voice training classes and is sharing her talents in the gaming, narration and anime convention fields.
Ms. Sasaki joins previously announced Guest of Honor, “Macross” singer-songwriter Mari Iijima.
Super Dimension Convention will once again be held at the Torrance Cultural Arts center in Torrance, CA. Other scheduled activities include the return of the “Macross Idol” cosplay and performance contest, custom model contest, live auctions and raffles, and dealers' room.
