Jacksonville's Wasabicon Pop Culture Event Returns for an Eighth Year

The annual event is attended by over 3,600 fans of video games, cosplay, and more each year.

(JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, February 11, 2019) WasabiCon® is Jacksonville's annual celebration of pop culture for fans of cosplay, video games, anime, comics, sci-fi, tabletop gaming, and everything fandom has to offer. Started in 2012, this family-friendly event is open to all ages and features artists, vendors, celebrity guests, contests, and hours of programming for everyone from casual superhero fans to dedicated Trekkies and Otaku. This year's convention will take place Saturday and Sunday, October 19-20, 2019 at the Lexington Hotel & Conference Center located at 1515 Prudential Drive, Jacksonville, Florida 32207. Tickets go on sale Thursday, February 14, 2019 online at www.WasabiCon.com.

This year's theme for WasabiCon is #FindYourFandom. Attendees will be encouraged not only to come out and celebrate their favorite aspects of pop culture, but to discover other genres that exist, too. With easy access to a diverse landscape of fandom, WasabiCon 2019 will offer a multitude of panels, programming, performances, and other interactive opportunities from almost every fandom imaginable.

“The fandom community will always have more in common than not,” says event owner, Tom Croom. “Friends and family are always eager to share their favorite hobbies and passions, and WasabiCon 2019 will be a place designed to allow them to do just that by offering a little bit of ‘everything geek’ for them to explore and discover”.
