The original version of ‘Amsterdam’ was released in October, to coincide with this year's edition of the renowned Dutch festival Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE).

‘Amsterdam’ was the fourth release in a jet-setting series of dance music tracks by AmPm named after cities around the world where the duo have found inspiration. The track has been featured prominently alongside figureheads of the dance music scene on Spotify playlists such as Friday Cratediggers, Electro Mix and mint Japan. It has been hotly received around the world, leading to a guest DJ mix by AmPm on Italian radio show 105 InDaKlubb, and interviews with several influential dance music media such as EDM Nations.

Now, ‘Amsterdam’ has been remixed by Marc Benjamin, an accomplished rising artist with 1.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify who has previously remixed renowned artists such as AfroJack and Zedd. As one of Holland's hottest DJs, Benjamin has been a five-year resident at Amsterdam's largest nightclub, Escape, as well as headlining the Ultra Bali festival.

The track is a combined effort between AmPm collaborators around the world, from remixer Marc Benjamin to Dutch dance labels TurnItUp Muzik and Blackhole Recordings.

The original track's melodious hook now carries a deeper emotional edge, combined with the addition of a deep rave-style sound, resulting in a denser dance vibe.

Message from Marc Benjamin

“Honored to remix this record from the mysterious Japanese act AmPm, and as being born and raised in the Amsterdam region this record was the perfect match, enjoy!”

Message from AmPm

“This is only the second time we've ever had someone remix one of our tracks, and Marc Benjamin's incredible music sense resulted in a song that sounds brand new. The remix is more emotional and more powerful than the original. We hope that you will listen to both versions to see how they compare, and we can't wait to be able to play this remix in a DJ set ourselves when we are finally able to join you all in person again!”

Marc Benjamin profile

Marc Benjamin is in his prime. Coming from a musical family, with his sister also being a very talented DJ, music has been his passion since he was a child. The Dutch upstart achieved his first residency at the young age of 16, where he gained considerable experience and began to dip his toes into the European club scene. By the time he turned 17, Marc's reputation preceded him, and he was showcasing his talent internationally across Europe and, soon after, around the world.

Marc Benjamin's big break came in December of 2013 when his original single, ‘Riser’, achieved a Top 10 slot in Beatport's top 100 chart. The success of the track gained him international exposure and major recognition within the dance community. After that, Benjamin found himself collaborating with Laidback Luke on ‘We're Forever’ and ‘Tell Me That You Love Me’. As a result of hard work and dedication to his craft, Benjamin was asked to play at Ministry of Sound in London, followed by the world famous Tomorrowland.

Alongside and after a five-year weekly residency in Amsterdam's largest nightclub, Escape, Benjamin collaborated with dance music icon Benny Benassi on ‘Who I Am’, which was released on Ultra Music. Later, Benjamin released his single ‘Blow’ on Spinnin' Records, which has over 23 million streams on Spotify. Furthermore, Benjamin released his single ‘Thunder’ on Steve Angello's Size Records. After playing Southeast Asia's largest festival, D.W.P. (Djakarta Warehouse Project), and gaining popularity throughout Asia, Benjamin was invited as headliner to close the Ultra Music Festival in Bali.

Benjamin was summoned not once, but five times for his remix work for Grammy Award-winning producer Zedd. His renditions of big hits like ‘The Middle’ and ‘Happy Now’ led Zedd to invite Benjamin to play on his ‘Orbit’ and ‘True Colors’ album tour in Europe. In 2019, Benjamin released his single ‘All The Time’ on Spinnin' Records and signed exclusively to the Spinnin' family. In 2020, He released two singles, ‘Wild Bill’ and ‘Horizons’, on Heldeep Records, owned by Oliver Heldens, and collaborated with Fedde Le Grand on the single ‘To The Top’.

With the world's biggest artists nipping at his heels requesting collaborations and remixes, the future is bright for Marc Benjamin, who has received enviable support from the likes of Tiësto, Steve Angello, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Avicii and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike amongst many others. His sophisticated DJ sets are celebrated for their unique original main room sounds and his charismatic and classy posture behind the decks.

Be on the lookout for his newest original productions, collaborations, remixes, and an exciting tour announcement coming soon.
