Actors Tracey Moore, Vince Corazza; Musician Rose Soenen; Cosplayers Bear Sailor Moon, Chell Creates, Lexa Jades, Pufferdoodles to Appear at Pretty Heroes Convention July 15-16, 2023 at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre

Toronto, Ontario – July 11, 2023 – Tracey Moore and Vince Corazza to appear as voice actor guests of honour and will be featured in panels as well as be available for signing autographs. Musical guest Rose Soenen will perform a concert with an interactive question and answer portion. Additionally, experienced cosplay guests Bear Sailor Moon, Chell Creates, Lexa Jades, and Pufferdoodles will host a variety of craft workshops, cosplay related programming, and other activities.

Pretty Heroes will occur on July 15-16 at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This all ages, inclusive event features a variety of vendors and exhibitors, discussion panels, cosplay catwalks, an idol showcase, musical performances, craft workshops, and more.

Tracey Moore has been voicing leading roles in award-winning cartoon series since 1980. Kids growing up in the 90s and 2000s would have heard her as a leading role in many of their favorite series. She is also well known in the anime community as the original voice of Serena and Sailor Moon in the beloved anime series Sailor Moon (originally Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon). She also cast, voice directed, and played a key role in the development of the Sailor Moon series. Her voice direction has spanned many different genres and she's the singing voice and studio musical director for Strawberry Shortcake – in video, CD, and live stage. Her work in animation as both a voice director and a voice artist has garnered three daytime Emmy awards.

Vince Corazza has had an impressive voice-over career recording thousands of commercials and being a signature voice for many major networks. Currently he is the promo voice of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS. Vince has played roles in numerous animated TV shows, most notably Darien Shields/Tuxedo Mask in the iconic anime series Sailor Moon. In Sailor Moon, he was also the voice of the alien Alan Granger. His other voice acting work includes also includes various other animated franchises and video games.

Bear Sailor Moon is a Canadian cosplayer who has become a local staple in Toronto and cosplay award winner. He has won awards for his distinctive take on the classic anime character including Best In Show for his stunning performance at Fan Expo 2017. A master level cosplayer, he is self-taught at sewing and climbed the ranks quickly with his performances leaving tens across the board. Bear Sailor Moon has used his education in theatre and journalism to help him hone his craft. He is know for his hosting and public speaking abilities and has created a fun and engaging character. A charismatic host, behind the microphone is where he thrives. He enjoys hosting masquerades and other events at conventions as well as singing and performing.

Chell Creates is a cosplayer, coscrafter, and digital media creator with passions in art, videography, and editing. She began sharing her work with the world in early 2021, pushing her creativity to new limits with her unique style of cosplay progress videos, self-portrait photography, and in-character mini-movies. In the past year, Chell has also begun expanding her work and getting more involved with the Toronto cosplay community with her photography. Chell focuses on detail work and screen-accuracy in her costumes, learning something new with every cosplay she makes – from sewing, to wig styling, to prop-making. As a lifelong digital media creative, she merges her passions of photography and video with cosplay in her self-portrait photography and films.

With over 8 years of cosplay experience, Lexa Jades has gained a large range of knowledge in modeling, sewing, makeup, and more! Recently, she has been combining her love of all things nerdy, singing, and flow arts in order to create unique performances and showcases for all ages to enjoy. She has been recognized in both the cosplay and circus community for her talents, and has been a featured entertainer for a variety of events. Lexa's main goal in the community is to create a safe and entertaining space for all ages and skill levels, as well as encourage those around her try new things.

Pufferdoodles grew up with a love of reading, and this included both manga as well as traditional comic books. She loved watching anime from a young age as well and stepped into the cosplay community when she was 13 years old. Her passion for cosplay evolved into a love of sewing. Puff is always looking at costumes and characters with an eye to determine the perfect fabric choice, patterns, and construction techniques to bring characters to life. Cosplay highlights for Pufferdoodles include being recognized by: Genshin Impact, League of Legends, Arda Wigs, and Jinx's creator. She's enjoyed modelling for brands like Pink City, Triple Fortune, Hendrix Roe, Narces, and Racoon Guts.

About Pretty Heroes: Founded and organized by Emily Gonsalves, this event originally started as the Toronto Sailor Moon Celebration in 2015. The brand name changed in 2018 to shift focus to expand from being a Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon event to encompass all strong female characters, the characters who support them, and real-life inspirational women. With this change, Pretty Heroes became the first and is currently the only “girl power” themed pop culture convention in Canada. The event is welcoming to all ages and genders. The convention team is unpaid – this event is run by fans for fans.

Pretty Heroes Convention Information
Admission: $45 pre-registration, $50 at the door for general weekend admission. Youth 6-11 are $5 off admission.
