8 episodes and ~5 minutes of ep 9. The main character is what ruins the anime. She's an insufferable and completely incompetent idiot, who'd rather do stupid stuff than actually learn magic. It takes her 7 episodes to realize what a failure she is, but even after that she still continues to be a failure. If you like to watch an anime where every other episode is about the main character picking a fight with someone because she was (rightfully) called incompetent, this is the right show for you. |

1 episode. Pretty lame. Nothing really happened except for needlessly exaggerated fights that destroy half a town just to capture 1 demon (they didn't succeed). To be fair, they tried to set a trap for the demon first, but he escaped with no difficulty AT ALL. Well done, royal knights. So yeah, the anime looks good but is kinda terrible. |

4 episodes. I'd really like to like this anime - it has great music, great art, and an interesting concept, but it's so horribly BORING. After 4 episodes it feels like nothing's happening at all. After episode 1 I thought "This is going to be a masterpiece". After episode 4 I couldn't bring myself to watch any more. |

17 episodes. Started out very very well, I was prepared to give this show a "Masterpiece" rating. But it took a complete 180 at episode 13, when the main character turned into a stupid, selfish idiot who does nothing but cause problems and yell at people. It's unbearable. I hoped it was only a short phase and he'd return to normal soon, but now, 4 episodes later, I can't bring myself to watch anymore. RIP Re:Zero, your first 12 episodes will be remembered. UPDATE: A friend convinced me to finish this show, so I skipped a few episodes and continued at ep 20. It's actually pretty good again at that point. It's nice to have the normal Subaru and Emilia back! Final verdict: Good anime overall, with a handful of episodes that you're better off skipping. |
