I’m curious, but will ANN be discussing donghua news again? I know X&Y this season didn’t have much hype, but it’s been pretty good. Also, Link Click season 2 premiering July 14th is huge. Heaven Official’s Blessing season 2 is said to be out for Fall 23 or Winter 24 after recasting Xie Lan’s voice actor. Also, we should see The Daily Life of the Immortal King season 4 soon!

Hi thanks for asking. News about donghua is always very relevant to fans of animation. When it becomes relevant to anime fans and the anime industry in particular usually involves things like collaborations between China and Japan; and commentary or involvement from notable Japanese industry professionals and creators.

Hype and popularity (or lack of it) of specific Chinese titles alone doesn't warrant articles or columns at ANN because there are other English based outlets of donghua news, events and releases. If your preferred language is Chinese, there's Bilibili, Baidu and other Chinese based sites and APPs.

Please read this FAQ for clarification ABOUT the site (particularly items 1 & 2) and how that might explain when and why donghua news is or isn't covered on the site.

ChirashiD's answer is correct for now. So we only sometimes cover donghua, when it involves collaborations with notable anime projects / directors / studios.

That said, I wouldn't rule out more coverage in the future.
