See? Unlike "certain" anime with fillers content, One Piece are fillers is very fast and doesn't take that long or ruin much to the main plot.

Zou isn't very long (21 chapters if the wiki is correct). Hopefully this doesn't get too much padding. I don't like fillers just as much as anyone, but this is quickly approaching the current chapter and that doesn't bode well for the quality of the show.

I was hoping this filler arc would be a little longer for once. The show desperately needs it, and I'm enjoying this one... anything with a change of scenery, I think, because we've been at Dressrosa for SO FREAKIN LONG. Now's the time, Toei.

Sorry, but I'd rather have 10 or 15 episodes of a filler arc instead of incredibly slow pacing with dragged out scenes and super long recaps that can take up a third of the episode with the OP/ED included. It's the main reason a lot of manga readers don't bother with the anime anymore.

A show like Naruto Shippuden goes overboard with the filler, but there is definitely a happy medium, and One Piece never gets to that medium.

Yes, I'm happy that the next arc is getting animated, but at the same time I can't help but thinking "TOO SOON! Widen the gap (between the manga and the anime) a bit more."

I'm sure that he staff will manage, but it's still a little too close for comfort in my book.

I hope they don't pad the heck out of it like they did Dressrosa, if they get too close to the manga they should just give the anime a break but knowing them...>sighs<

merely doing this short filler so they can keep doing 1 chapter per episode (or less) but still have room for oda's breaks.

sigh... its so sad its been almost a decade now since one piece had decent pacing.

Naruto Shippuden is beyond 'overboard'. The manga has been finished for, what, two years plus?

Nevertheless, I don't really see what's wrong with OPs (One Piece hasn't had EDs in years) and expanded recaps... We can just skip over them. I'd rather have to skip over expanded recaps then deal with filler.

The One Piece anime is in a bad place, because it feels like Oda is starting to take breaks every two weeks.

You got it backwards one piece is so close to the manga that having a long filler arc would actually be beneficial to the story imo now it looks like their gonna drag zou out like they did dressrossa. Naruto may have its fans in filler hell but one piece pacing is so slow that at a certain point it starts to drag the main story and make people lose interest in the arcs so either way both series has its own problems.

I agree with many others on this thread: the anime is *way* too close to the manga right now. They should've taken at least a season, using either a flat-out break or filler, before diving back into the plot, especially at the rate that Oda is going at these days.

I'm wondering how long it will be before we're back to drawn out episodes. Probably not very long. Sad

I think Fairy Tail is honestly the happy medium for filler, doing 20ish episode arc when they need to by time, filler arcs that are usually pretty good, or even doing one off filler episodes works to, they function as good pallet cleansers between big arcs.

Shippuden tries way too hard to expand on EVERYTHING. The manga ended close to TWO YEARS AGO and we still can't even get to the final fight cause useless filler has been injected into the story.

One Piece has the problem of only being about 3 months behind the manga yet refuses to take a Fairy Tail style year break or do a Shippuden style long form filler.

One piece is the only anime where people are begging for more filler. but i knew better, this happens every time a movie is going to premiere. and to be honest,i just want to get back to the canon material already, all the fillers suck, and have no rewatchability.

naruto is the one show people are begging to be over with already (anime)

G-8 and Ice Hunters are totally re-watchable and are fantastic. G-8 is considered by many fans to be so good you could practically call it cannon, it's got the classic Strawhat fun while also having interesting stakes and a great Villain in Jonathon.

people are begging for filler not to see the filler, but to see the pacing of the canon story improve.

people can bitch and moan about bleach and naruto filler but at least you can skip that. Not really any different than if the series was just not airing.
