Makes me wonder how well this smartphone game will do in the long run. It's not like we're getting a new anime TV series of Madoka Magica any time soon for obvious reasons.

If a (Japanese) Smart phone game is successful enough, it can warrant an animated project.
The other issue is that in Manga or LN form there had been an explosion of "dark magical girl" content post madoka, hell we had Magical Girl Raising project, Daybreak Illusion, and many other magical series (not even counting the REGULAR magical girl series) We can only wait and hope that the Puella Magi will return to the screen some day even if work isn't around the original cast of characters or writers. |
