Madhouse needs a franchise. They spent their entire career making hits for other people, but still don't have anything that's their own. Can you imagine how much it must suck watching Yuri On Ice's success, knowing that could've been you?

I haven't heard of Yuri on ice getting a manga adaptation.

Wouldn't make sense to release the manga at least a month after the anime starts? The same goes for "Just Because" which got a manga chapter almost a month before the anime startted.
