Speaking of Cowboy Bebop, ANN should report on Funimation's plan to sell $250, $350 and $550 collector sets to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary.

It's also already up in the Funimation Solicitations thread on ANN's Retail forums. (Generally, the best way to get up to date information on stuff like these sets is to subscribe to each of the major publisher's Solicitation threads.)

I do see the add, but that is not reporting on it. I just though that Funi's plans to do Bebop CE's is something worth formally reporting on.

I've known about that youtube channel for a while and I really love it listen to their stuff a lot!

I particularly like the fact that in addition to covering popular and/or recent anime they also do old and/or obscure ones, many of which are things i really like!

For example, I really love their covers of the OPs of Metal Armor Dragonar and Panzer World Galient

Does the upcoming “Legend of the Galactic Heroes” set release not ring a bell for ya? Funny how you stay awfully quiet when lesser-known anime get big releases but go crazy when overrated classics like Bebop get a full-set.

And that would be a ridiculous amount to pay for the series!

I got the whole series on BLU RAY for the price ($30) you would have paid for one volume on DVD about 18 years ago!

Nuts!
I hope people are getting signed memorabilia from the show's creators for that much money.
What new bonus content are they gonna get that wasn't ported from the old Bandai DVDs already? Hopefully, they're getting ALL the Japanese CD collections with the show's music on them but even that's not worth the cost of those sets!

Oh, and as far as the SNES goes.
It's 16-bit sound.
The audio quality was one of the big reasons I preferred the SNES to the Sega Genesis (8-bit audio from a 16-bit system!). Sure, there were Genesis games that had outstanding music but by and large the Genesis audio was more muffled and the vocal reproduction was awful.
There is a HUGE difference between MIDI on an 8-bit system like the NES and MIDI on 16-bit like the SNES. 16-bit MIDI does a remarkable job of reproducing instrumental sounds like piano and orchestral instruments (drums, wind instruments, violins, brass) -- there is NOTHING electronica/unnatural about the aural quality of well-done 16-bit MIDI.
There were some SNES music tracks so well done you would swear they were CD-quality but a lot of the games with the best-quality audio never left Japan!
These MIDI tracks that YouTube channel is hosting are definitely NES quality. The better ones are good but don't confuse them with what could be done on the SNES.

The LoGH set comes to about $5 per episode. These Bebop CE's come to about $8, $11.5 and $18 per episode. BTW, I wish Sentai had divided their LoGH release into 4 parts or sell the whole thing for $500.

Oh, good--I don't have to go ask Luna to erase off the moon, so I can carve "SNES and Sega Genesis were 16-bit, Nintendo and Super Mario were 8-bit!" in it for YouTube hipsters' benefit.

Yes, it annoys the heck out of Genesis fans, too. Mad
