A shockingly short interview, but it's cool to see one, regardless. I honestly almost considered going to Anime Boston this year, solely for Kazuki Yao.
I'm not one to normally go all "The original voice must reprise his role in a new productions", as I'm always curious to see how others interpret a character, but Kazuki Yao as Dark Schneider is probably the only real exception for me; I would have definitely gotten my DVD of the Bastard!! OVA autographed by him. It makes me extremely happy to see this question asked, & to see Yao be so happy & willing to theoretically reprise DS.[/url] |

I am delighted to hear that he played Dark Schneider, next time I re-watch Bastard I am going to listen to the JP version.

When i got his autograph he seemed shocked I remembered Dancouga. After a clean "yatte yaruze!" I was pleased he still had it in him. Swell guy.

He'd be more shocked if you remembered that Chivas 1-2-3 aka Sorcerer on the Rocks OVA he did from 1999 that ADV licensed. That or Battle Royal High School, I'm not sure he remembers that OVA, or maybe he does. I'm surprised there's no questions about ZZ Gundam in this article but oh well. |
