Yay! Hayate the Combat Butler!
Not only that, I'm so happy that they're bringing out Read or Dream as well. (not that it's any surprise with R.O.D out now too)
Thank you Viz!

I'm glad Read or Dream will be coming out. Not that suprising since they are currently releasing Read or Die, but its still nice to know that it will be coming out.

And it seems that Viz will finally be releasing Cain Saga. It's only been 6+ months since it has been on retail sites like RightStuff and been mentioned in AnimeInsider.

I have never heard of Hayate the Combat Butler before but I read the encyclopedia entry and it sounds like it could be an entertaining manga. I'll have to check that out.

*cries* I've been hoping that someone, someday would license the DNA2 (squared) manga. Since Viz has two of Katsura's other series (Video Girl Ai and I"s) I would figure that, if anyone did it, they would.

I guess hope for that is small since the series is now 13, approaching 14, years old.

O-parts Hunter, I was wondering about what they'd call it when they brought it here. A decent name, since it could've been really bad, like "The Legend of Diablo" or something dumb like that. I wonder how much, if any, they're going to censor the plot itself... and if they don't I can't wait to hear the news headlines on that. "Manga encourages Satanic Worship," Twisted Evil I can hear the parents' outcry now.

Anyway, I can't wait. This series is awesome and I'm definitely going to pick it up.

Yeh I agree, if you're into shounen manga, 666 Satan rocks. The namechange I like actually, since I always thought '666 Satan' sounded weird and gave a distorted image of the manga.
I'm very interested to see what they do with the character Satan in the manga and wether they'd change it, tho he is supposed to be the bad guy and for that reason they might keep it? (and there's the 666 mark itself too)
The title-change is a strategical move anyway, how are you gonna market a shounen called 666 Satan in the US where that name has a very different symbolic meaning.

I wish that D.N.A^2 would be translated here to. There is still a possibility Dark Horse or Viz could try to licence it here (since both companies have had Katsura licences in the past). I have a feeling thought Viz might try to get Zetman though, which would be just as great. I read someplace a long time ago that someone did have the liscence for the D.N.A^2 Manga, but that never materialized sadly. Also I wish Wingman would get licenced here Sad
I'm also pulling for I"s Pure to get licenced by Viz.

Also, i'm very pleased 666 Satan got licensed. It looked very promising from what I have seen.

Ahh, 666 Satan... I read this a while back, up to chapter 24 I think. It has a lot of problems (pacing, character, I guess plot) but has a few moments where it definitely shines. And overall, it's not too bad of a shonen series. Worth a read, definitely. Not too sure about a purchase.

Maybe when it's polished up a bit.

Well it's certainly true that 666 Satan has it share of problems in the beginning, and you won't hear me say this is a masterpiece of a manga. But as far as shounen goes, I read those with my heart. And it's just a bundle of fun if you can forgive the flaws it undeniably has.
But according to people that have read more of it, it gets quite good later on. So I can't wait to see Viz publish this, and shounen-aficionado as I am, must have this manga.

Too bad a lot of readers judge this series as being a copy of Naruto, (it's a known fact why they are similar) and by doing this you'd be ignoring it's own qualities. For one it's a lot more fast-paced, which you have to adapt to coming from weekly shounen, but it's certainly a plus. And, imo, at times this manga is a lot more daring than Naruto; which is also definitely reflected in the artwork. It might look very similar on first impressions, but their styles evolve in very different ways. (+ Seishi knows how to draw women a LOT better Anime catgrin )

According to Amazon.com Viz is also releasing 5 volumes of Princess Mononoke, which is strange, because that's never been a manga.

It's probably the film comic, where they just take screenshots and arrange them in a manga-esque way. Viz has done this with a bunch of other Miyazaki works already.

Yay!! They HAVEN'T forgotten about Kiniro no Corda (La Corda d'Oro... I wonder why they changed the name. It was listed on their website as Kiniro no Corda earlier in the year). It was supposed to have been released in January 2006, but never came out, so I thought the project melted away... but it's back! Yay~

Yeah. My hallucination is that now that Viz is done with Video Girl Ai they'd grab it, but...

I won't be surprised if *someone* licenses I"s Pure, considering the fact that just about everything else is getting licensed too. I've never looked at Zetman, though I've always meant to.
