Incorporating Toriyama's Dragon Ball Minus is just the cherry on this sh** sundae, isn't it? Combining the worst character ever created for the franchise with the abominable retcon of Minus.

Super set up literal universes that could be used to produce new, interesting antagonists for our heroes, but hey, Broly. That'll work, right? Feh.

Nice to see that Vic is once again voicing the legendary super sayian, now hopefully Broly say more than just Kakarot. Still going to see this movie, providing it's playing in my theater.

I love how they're releasing subtitled trailers even though they won't play the movie subtitled.

If memory serves me correctly, this makes Gine very first appearance in the anime.

The Good: It's so pretty and vibrant in color and full of fluid animation looking! No matter what else, this is the new high point of Dragon Ball's animation.

The Bad: DB Minus completely overwriting the Bardock Special in canon now. Maybe it will be worth it. Maybe.

When characters have been around as long as these guys have, it's inevitable that their will be retcons. That's just in the nature of the game.

It can't all fit into canon/continuity and it WON'T because of all the different cooks.

Does anyone honestly think EVERY Superman comic or story published in the last 80 years COUNTS for everyone? There's a whole decade of Batman comics (1950s) generally ignored because it's considered one of the silliest eras for that character in publishing. They rarely reprint many stories from that point or the early 1960s.

With Dragonball, it's inevitable some of the salad will be tossed out. There was an awful lot of filler in that series.
Of course, you can still accept the Bardok special and keep it in your own head continuity.
They're NOT gonna stop selling it or keep it out of print forever.

Time for you both to cut it out penguintruth & AsuraTheDestructor. I removed your last few posts. If you have nothing to add to the conversation Penguin besides your constant pessimism and "this will suck" comment then don't bother. You've been warned about that sort of posting before on other shows. And Asura personal insults are not tolerated. Report a user, end of story. Don't insult them nor leave flamebait comments.

Honestly, I have no issues with this. I've loved Dragon Ball for a long long time, but some of the story back then was just awful. Brolys horrible "I wanna kill Kakarrot because he cried next to me" to just some of the terrible filler and slow pacing for some parts. I love stuff like this, because while it is retconning some things, I actually like that they are going back and trying to flesh out the story for this more. They are giving Broly a better personality, which you can just see from the facial expressions he has in trailers.

The retcons are just gonna be natural now, i'm not watching Dragon Ball to be like "*tilts glasses up* Well actually in the canon of Dragon Ball, this and this happened" I'm watching the series because I love the characters, I love seeing new takes and things added to it, things that were talked about like Gine actually get added in someway. I love stuff like this, and i'm excited to see how this movie turns out.

I saw Vic at a panel where he was discussing how many, many of his fans have asked for more Broly over the years. I think I can get some friends from work together--this one is a must see in the theater!

Grant Morrison did a run of Batman comics where the premise was "every Batman comic is canon, even the silly ones", with the explanation pretty much amounting to, "villains sure spray Batman with hallucinogenic gas a lot, don't they?" Laughing
