Wait....delayed to July altogether? Is this the beginning of the sign that Coronavirus finally showing its impact on Japanese studios’ domestic production, instead of...say, outsourcing from South Korea and Mainland China? Because at least according to many outsourcing Chinese studios’ social media posts, vast majority of them have resumed working and is working full force to complete their contracts (of course they are not allowed to say what shows they are currently working on before being listed on the ending credits)

I would say there are probably multiple reasons for the delay. Covid-19 being the most convenient and easiest to communicate, with the benefit of also attracting potential sympathy. No one would dare complain if they evoke the spectre of recent disaster.

^ How bout we not go there. Especially when there’s been a slew of anime productions that should’ve been delayed considerably but didn’t and made air bad animation, inconsistent art and other issues be damned.
