I don't know what the degree is, but I think it's undeniable that my marital status has exerted an influence over this manga.

Understatement of the century.

I believe that the design of a wedding dress represents one of the pinnacles of women's clothing developed by humanity.

I mean, he's not wrong.

Tsukasa's backstory is rather heavy, so out of the thought that readers wouldn't be inclined to follow the manga if it were included at the start, I decided to parcel out the information gradually.

This was definitely the right call. It's a lot more interesting when it's just there, floating in the aether, for fans willing to pay attention.

The anime staff is working on the show while knowing information and truths that haven't yet been revealed in even the manga. That's also the case for the OP and ED songs. So I'm looking forward to seeing how these people who have such a deep understanding of the work express it through animation.

That's really interesting. I definitely feel like the OP conveys why Tsukasa first fell for Nasa. Curious if the anime will add anything unique to round out the season.

Do you ever worry that your readers won't grasp the pop culture jokes in your work?

There are many times when the joke doesn't get across, so I don't worry about it anymore.
He's become strong, and I admire that.

Finally, do you have a message for your international fans?

As grateful as I am to have received so many messages from fans overseas, it hasn't quite sunk in for me that people outside Japan would read and love this manga which, on top of not being a fantasy, is deeply embedded in Japanese culture. As a result, I'm truly happy that it has become popular even overseas. By all means, I hope you can check out both the manga and anime.

It would help if they made it more accessible, from what I can see, the ebook version doesn't seem to be available on amazon or Kobo here in Europe, at least not in the part I reside in. Paperback is possible, but amazon uk is a no go, it's only available from the US site which means high shipping/import fees. And I'm out of space so I don't really collect physical editions anymore, aside from artbooks...

Considering this and the fact the first volume from Viz only released last month it isn't thanks to Viz this hype exists. Instead it has the scanlated version to thank for that.

Why does Viz region-restrict ebook versions of many of their properties, while their MangaPlus service seems to be available worldwide? Seems a bit contradictory as well as counterproductive businesswise...

Well, MangaPlus isn't Viz's. It's Shueisha's.
