Let me guess. Its gonna be more weird fanservice BS instead of adapting skipped content that is actually interesting and important to the plot.

Episode 12 did end on an mildly unsatisfactory note I feel because of the skipped content..
This OVA will be as the other two.

After the previous two OVAs, we might have had hope for adapting actual content for the next OVA, but wasn't everyone expecting something like this?
And I'll disagree that the third season ended on an unsatisfactory note because of skipped content. We'll discuss that more, I am sure, in the main episode review thread.

Fan service episodes are fine as long as they make some sense. The second DanMachi OVA made no sense whatever.
I thought Danmachi season three's anime was OK as long you consider it a "scenes from" type of adaptation.
I am more annoyed that so much interesting content is not presented in the light novels (nor in the anime) but in the "Memoria Freese" game. Granted, some folks with too much time on their hands have captured most all of it and posted videos on the Home of All Copyright Violations. My question is, how much of what appears in the game is "canon?"

I can hope for this OVA to be superior than the previous OVAs.
Dragon Ball Super and One Piece anime can eat their hearts out for not having a hot springs OVA episode btw lol

They cover canon stuff from the novels like episode ryuu and the missing volume 8 stuff from the anime ("Certain Gods and Familia Love Songs Tale" and "A Certain Goddess’s Love Song Tale"). They have also adapted Sword Oratoria Volume 5 and 6 in Danmemo which further suggest season 2 of Sword Oratoria ain't happening.
Most of the danmemo events such as beach, valentine, Halloween, Christmas and crossovers stuff are not canon but the things concerning characters are canon. Basically, the story is not canon but the hints suggested on characters backstory is most likely canon.
An example of this is the Christmas event "Winter Magic Miracle Tale" which is so not canon but the things hinting at who Syr is, is most likely canon. Another would be the 1st-anniversary event "Grand day tale" in which the author wrote but didn't put in the novels as he couldn't find a proper place to put it. So the story isn't canon but in that event it hints at the other level 7 which is probably canon.
Now onto ORIGINAL stories that are canon. There are only two events which fit that bill. The 2nd-anniversary event "Argonaut" and the 3rd-anniversary event "Astrea Records" which are both written by the author. The 2nd event is set far before Danmachi and is actually set before gods even descended and there were familias and level etc. In the main series, Bell is described to be similar to the hero Argonaut from the stories and basically that event tells the tale of said hero. The 3rd-anniversary event is set 7 years before the main series and is 99% canon. It tells the tale of the Dark ages when Evilus was rising up. It features the legendary Astrea familia (Ryuu's familia) and explores them fighting against Evilus. It also features certain characters from the main series like Loki Familia and is also the first introduction of members from the legendary Zeus/Hera familia.
Hope that helps

This OVA is 99% going to be some fanservice garbage going by how the previous 2 OVA ended up being.
It's a shame considering there is so much content they could do instead but whatever

I'm used to fanservice OVA's from DanMachi, I just hope they announce season 4 soon.

The first one was boring, but the second one was hilarious.
Hopefully the third is entertaining as well.

Wait, they're doing ANOTHER hot springs OVA? Can't they do a beach episode or something?

Wasn't the last one basically a beach episode?

I don't remember this. What in that hinted at the other level 7?
