With that title, does this have an original story or is an alternate retelling of Stand Alone Complex? I still didn't even touch the Netflix version.

I still cannot accept how bad the artstyle they have chosen is.
It is so wrong.
I have watched the Netflix series and although the premise is OK, the visuals were bad.
Why the heck did they want to work with Kuvshinov, he had nothing to offer to the series.
He is average at best.
For this I blame the team for lack of vision.

It's a sequel series set around 10 years after 2nd gig. The story was pretty good for what we got so far, and I honestly enjoy the visuals overall(Not liking the Batou/Togusa redesigns, but it's mostly the hair I guess). I had also forgotten all about the new genki-tech girl, who seemed super out of place in this series.

The first two seasons(And perhaps Solid State) are absolute classics, and are much better than this one, but I plan to keep watching. Having(I think) the entire English cast return definitely helped carry it for me.

The CG makes it look like it's a PS2 game, but I'm still waiting for the second season.

Yeah, Purin probably wasn't the wisest choice for an additional character. She can be a badass when she wants to be, but the problem is she doesn't have many chances or reasons to be, which reduces her to comic relief. I think that's unfortunate, since she could've had the "newbie with fresh eyes and fresh take on things" niche that Togusa used to fill. Heck, judging by how Purin interacts with the Tachikoma, even having her work with Proto and the mechs exclusively could've been nice as a tension-breaking "funny background event" position.

Instead, we got what we got. :-/

So you’re saying the CG cinematically looks like something on par with say…..Final Fantasy X’s CG meaning good?

So, am I the only who hated the CG animation in this one?

I absolutely love everything Ghost in the Shell, but I quit half-way through the first episode watching this on Netflix. how did this even get renewed?

It was originally gonna be 24 episodes, they just had to split it most likely due to production issues (it was mid 2020 after all)

Dislike of the CG is pretty much the number one reason a lot of people dislike this.

I have no idea of how production work but it took a year and a half to make a compilation film?
