I have not read this novel
Does the story take place in China or in Japan or in a fantasy world?

I think it is sort of like Kusuriya or Saiunkoku. It takes on those aesthetics.

Despite the fantasy element, I am actually kind of cautiously excited for it. Although I would prefer Kusuriya being adapted.
