Is this some kind of weird prequel/remake thing? Is that why Meryl is so different and Milly isn't in it? Although Wolfwood is.
I probably should have seen Hosoya as Wolfwood coming.

I'm sorry... Robert Deniro? Really? Did I read that right?
EDIT: Of course after I post this the article gets edited... but it's not far off from the mark.

Well, this confirms it.
This is a 100% original series that uses Trigun as a base, an alternative universe if you will.

Would've much rather had Milly in the show than Meryl any day.

Where the hell is Milly?
And Wolfwood's melanin? And his cigarettes?
At least the punisher looks nice.

Oh no they need to bring back the original characters not replace them with some Rando like what were they thinking taking Milly out of The picture, are these people insane!

Well, both Milly and Meryl are beyond irrelevant in the Manga, I thought they were gonna skip them to be frank.
The fact that they are using Meryl to begin with it's surprising, maybe they will do something different with Milly, seeing how now Meryl is a reporter now (or that understood).
Brad, the guy with the pompadour from the flying city, is way, way WAY more important than those 2 in the manga, for example yet he is irrelevant in the anime.

You sure?
I would of figured they would actually make an effort in adapting the original manga by now,

No sir, I am not a fan of Zoomer Trigun. Everything looks so off from the aesthetic, character designs, and clothing. Vash is literally wearing a modern day zip-up windbreaker coat.
They should at least credit 4Kids for the idea of turning Wolfwood's cigarette into a lolipop.

So it’s not a prequel and it’s not an adaptation of the manga. What the f*** good is it for, then? It’s just some twisted, new age Trigun where Meryl is a reporter and there’s no Millie.
This shouldn’t exist.

The sad thing is that if they had a Trigun game that looked like this, these visuals would be really good, as it would be the closest a game could get to looking like Trigun.
it's still a shame Madhouse didn't do a reboot with the same visuals as Badlands Rumble.

Maybe they didn't have any money left for a smoke particle effect.

In this thread: people being surprised and disappointed and upset that a show that has been announced as an original story is, in fact, an original story and not a prequel or sequel or an adaptation of the manga or whatever they expected while apparently not reading any articles and announcements about the show... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, I don't hate this so far. I'll see where it goes.

Were they on a quest to sandpaper away any personality from the manga? If so, mission acomplished. I can´t point out a single distinct element to this anime. A product that tries to appeal to everyone will appeal to no one.
I bet that an original sci-fi pitch got spiced up with an appropriate and cheap IP to get anyone to watch. Resident Evil fans know that feeling. It happened in 2002 and likely again this year.
