People should stop relying on China in every way. Not just because of COVID issues.

Man. Confused

Well, I suppose February isn't that far away, and we still have a few more episodes this month, so it could be way worse.

I don't mind considering that episodes take so long to get subbed. I mean episode 8 isn't subbed and that aired a week ago. I know this isn't popular but still.

I previously hadn't looked at this franchise at all, but the promotional art caught my eye so I figured I'd take a closer look, and boy was this a rollercoaster.

The story takes place after 90 percent of humanity was wiped out due to an invasion.

Exciting, post-apocalyptic sci-fi is fun!

Survivors live in a shelter where their lives are monitored, and memories of the invasion erased.

Ooh, good twist, there's a lot of room there to layer social commentary on top of the sci-fi.

Three teenagers from the shelter are chosen to pilot three machines that combine to form the Musashi robot, made out of a material named Megatronium alloy.

Well, of course they do, this is anime after all.

As someone who actually watched the entire first season, there's barely any school life in it.

It is, however, absolutely wild. I can't get into specifics without giga spoilers, but I spent the entire season going "eh?" "weh??" "NO WAY" "....what" "....WHAT" "...ha ha ha WHAAAAT Very Happy" "...holy crap" "WAIT, WTF?????!" "ARE YOU SERIOUS" "BUT... HE'S LIKE 15" "WTFFFFFFF"

If school life is the only thing holding you back, I say don't be afraid, the only school aspect is that the main characters are school-aged (which becomes REALLY weird at one point towards the end with a plot involving one of them in a romantic relationship), they wear a school uniform, and sometimes show up in a school environment.

I still continue to be disappointed nobody bothered to license this show and I don't know what the reasoning was to not pick this one up.
