Congratulations, Masako. You truly deserve this, for everything you have contributed to anime, film, games, etc.

She is a legend, but she should seriously stop doing Dragon Ball roles.

They are too much for her age, and it shows in latest stuff like Heroes.

Congratulations, btw.

Heh, I feel that concern, and wish there was a way to post articles like these with official photos like these, and not make people's hearts skip a beat. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Aside from superimposing the words "She's alive" over the photo, there's really nothing that can be done about it. With the actor's age and the fact that over half the time we hear about actors on this site it's because they either died or did something horrific, it's hard to get past that initial reaction. Especially with the last year or two, with so many notable actors from our childhoods dying (Kevin Conroy, Jason David Frank, Paul Reubens, Bob Saget, Gilbert Gotfried, etc.). People are primed to expect the worst at this point.

To add salt to the wound, a lot of international voice actors who voiced Masako Nozawa's DBZ/GT/Super roles have also passed away, including Nenad Nenadović, Paolo Torrisi, Kirby Morrow, Thierry Mercier et alibi. Do you believe in the Son Goku voice actor curse?

By the way, congratulations to Masako Nozawa!

I read the first 4 words of the title and had to do a double take. That was close. I said back in 2020 that I was prepared myself for the 2020's to be the decade all my favorite legendary seiyuu pass away due to being in their 80's (Nozawa is 87 this month) or late 70's, but its always good that it hasn't happened yet.

Back to the article, congrats to Nozawa. As a legend, she deserves this. Well earned.
