I really don't get why anyone would expect this movie to affect the main series (the main series rarely does anything that impacts the status quo as the manga has gone on), movies that do affect the main story have always been the exception and not the rule.

Looking forward to seeing this even if it will be nearly a year before I get a chance (please speed up home releases Japan).

Feel like this series works best when it's just goofing around with its silly premise, so a film devoted to precisely that sounds good to me. As long as the comedy lands, I'll consider it a win.

Hmm, I would have to disagree, since Yor’s arc in season 2 is, IMO, the peak of the series so far.

Where exactly can we watch this movie? Only in cinema? Do we know when it releases in other platforms?

It only just came out in Japanese theaters, but it’s also getting a worldwide theatrical release I believe.

Unlikely this will get read, but was SOULSOUP an opening, an insert, or ED 1 (with Gen Hoshino's song as ED 2)?

Crunchyroll is bringing it to theaters in the west sometime next year.

Pretty much what I expected from a filler film. Still very looking forward to see it when it comes to the west, I'll never turn down more Spy x Family.

Lack of any impact on the over all SPY×FAMILY story

I don' understand how this is a negative. Making it cannon would confuse people who just watch the anime.

The thing here is the idea of handing Operation: Strix over to another agent because the Forgers are not doing that part is utter bull since:

1. This mission has always been intended to be a long-term mission (as it will be a while before Anya will get enough Stella Stars for her family to attend major events at the school).

2. Twilight has already made first contact with the main target of Operation: Strix.

3. Manga readers know full well that spoiler[the Forgers will gain another lead to this mission once Yor befriends Damien's mother].

Absolutely was, but I think everyone and their dog knew this movie would just be fun filler times, and all that needs is for the comedy to land and the action to look cool. And it sounds like it accomplishes that which is awesome.
I think the review saying you could introduce the series to someone through this movie is kinda whacky though, but hey.

I didn't even know there WAS a movie until just now. Hope I'll be able to see it soon -- before I forget again.

Also, on the subject of "other leads," since I just recently finished the latest manga volume, I've just gotta say... spoiler[Damien's mom is so incredibly creepy. Like something out of a horror manga.]

I don't know, I think SxF is really at its best once the whole family is assembled, and it takes the anime and the manga a while to get to that point. If the movie already starts there, it may be a better jumping-on point, immediately cluing viewers into the character dynamics with minimal setup or exposition.

From what I've read is another SJ movie: cool filler action, it won't change the whole story or characters and it was never meant to. That's why I liked much more the Demon Slayer or JJ0 movies; what they told DID matter for the whole work.
