Second time listening to these recordings but it was pretty cool hearing the reviewers from another point of view.
Solo Leveling felt like a mix between Goblin Slayer and Re:zero to me with that amount of torture porn but I have no idea how will the main character is able to change in only a single cour (Aniplex confirmed that length through Blurays). The animation is good and the premise kinda attractive since we are dealing with quite a risky take of the isekai genre rather than wish granting. Yeah, it's like Jujutsu Kaisen is way more obsessed with showing fights than developing its characters across Shibuya which might explain why Nobara had the most disappointing execution. I mean she has a friend but when did sh----------- The whole Mechamaru and Miwa was nice but almost forced and the execution felt like an intentional black comedy as Fake Geto simply destroys her weapon while smiling. Season 3 will start with Yuta but I don't wanna spoil what is his deal. I wonder if Mappa will make a movie like Ufotable made Mugen Train or not considering they didn't confirm the format of the Culling Games. About shonen in general, I'd say some series are more attractive to due to the stakes. It's like deciding what kind of mecha pilot you like. Like choosing between seriousness or sensitive, Amuro sometimes comes across as a balance even if he is often overshadowed by Char Aznable. In YuYuHakusho, probably my favorite arc was Sensui's as it challenged the whole black and white morality the characters faced rather than focus on violence for the fun. Kurama kills a kid but I think he revives. Kuwabara is against killing and even saves the guy who was trying to kill his friend. Hiei doesn't do much and Yusuke's character arc kinda ends before going to meet Raizen due to the realization of his own morality as he was joining demons. Yuta had quite a solid arc in the movie, Gojo and Geto in season 2 and Yuji in season 1. But Shibuya was mostly about fighting for Yuji until the climax with Mahito. |

When a show like Jujutsu Kaisen introduces a bunch of characters then kills them off, I'm not going to be interested in getting to know any new characters that show up because they too could get killed off and I'd be wasting my time doing so.

I think that Jujutsu Kaizen Season 2 ending was on the biggest letdowns I have seen in long time, with so much character potential thrown away for cheap shock value... including fridge'ing so many good characters.
