You know, I was thinking that this would be something really unique and would issue in a new age of dapper cosplayers in tuxedos...

But it's not, and everybody goes straight for what the kid's wearing. Great.

This shocks you?

Girls who cosplay want cute, not dapper.
I don't really see guys cosplaying this one unless their g/f's dragging them into it considering it's another shojo artist with BL leanings.
Unless it's the guys looking to score chicks. THEY might be the ones dressing up like Sebastian. I knew a guy who'd go to Yaoi-con to land chicks & he'd go as one of those shirtless leather-clad game heroes.

this is retarded. Instead of going to the anime for inspiration they should go to the main historical source

You're both wrong, girls like dressing up as their favorite characters whether it's cute or handsome. There already has been some Sebastian cosplayers already. Heck, the first cosplayer I've seen of this series was Sebastian and that was well over a year ago. I haven't seen pics of Ciel ones until later.

Taiyz, they do have an outfit inspired by Sebastian's tux, it's just not in the post. The only problem I have with that one is that they used a ribbon tie instead of a necktie. I wonder what the other stuff would look like.

And it's not surprising some designers went for Ciel for more inspiration. Ciel typically wears outfits of high society, which would have more flair.

Um, these label specializes in modernizing Victorian-era clothes along 19th century French fashion. If you know anything about fashion, being inspired by fiction is not uncommon at all. For example, Sophia Coppella's Marie Antoinette movie inspired some designers to put a modern spin on French fashion of that era, especially since she's always been a fashion icon, even more so back when she was queen.

It's not suprising that Kuroshitsuji is getting quite the warm reception in the Goth Loli scene. I loved the spread in one of KERA's special magazines when they tried to bring it to "life" of sorts. I wonder if they will make some of Madam Red's outfits!
