Now people will see if the song only sold because of Hatsune Miku, or they actually liked the songs.... Laughing

Cool I haven't picked up an import copy of Supercell. I look forward to getting the domestic version to support Miku's conquest of the U.S. music industry Laughing

Well I think I will definitely be getting this. Strange again, every time I visit iTunes and browse the Vocaloid stuff, there is always news about the stuff I was wondering about her on ANN the next day. In this case the release of the rest of supercell's stuff.

I'm really starting to understand iTunes hate though. Ridiculous program.

i thought cool until i read digital release only. i already have mp3's of this so why would i pay for it? it's probably going to be less than 320 kbps i'm assuming so I'll be paying for worse quality than the free pirated stuff. if you're going to charge for digital content, you have to make it better or at the very least equal to the pirated stuff. anyway, i want a cd i can hold in my hand without paying $30 for a japanese import. i'm an american and i don't pay more than $12 for a cd.

it's like crunchyroll charging for Naruto Shippuuden streaming. the free fansubs are higher quality and translated much better and FREE. so why would i pay for worse picture quality and worse subs? that's what kills me about it. they want people to do the right thing, but don't put out quality worth paying for.

I will be extremely surprised if "she" really does take the U.S. by storm. If she does, it will be like life imitating art (though to be fair I use that term loosely); ever see the movie S1M0NE?

If people want quality, they'll gonna have to pay for it, probably more than they think. The reason the other stuffs are free is because they're not paying anybody for it. Like everything else legit, the higher the quality, the more it costs, ya get what ya pay for.

Yes. That's actually the movie we use to explain Hatsune Miku to those who don't know about it. Laughing

While that's nice and all, the import comes with a very nice booklet with beautiful art of Miku. The US market would be missing out on a digital release. Confused

I think I'll pick this up as well; the selection of vocaloid related stuff on itunes has really expanded fairly rapidly, and IMO "world is mine" definitely isn't one of supercell's better Miku tracks. For those of you hatin' on the fact that it's a digital release, I would like to note that the better the incredibly-cheap-to-release digital version sells, the more likely the west is to get an actually-requires-an-initial-financial-loss physical release.

1) I have yet to come across a song or video that had horrible audio using their store. I wouldn't be surprised if everything is in 320 kbps, although I personally have no way to check that for the truth. However, to the average user who may or may not even know anything about kbps and whatnot, what they sell are perfect for that.
2) I'm an American, and I'm more than willing to pay $30+ in order to get a CD I want. Did it before for the Ouran soundtracks, and have done it for Coheed and Cambria releases. If I want them, I'll pay the price it takes to obtain them legally and physically.
3) Paying to watch Naruto Shippuden streaming, especially in the quality Crunchyroll offers, helps out the industry. Besides, they also offer the same episodes for free the week after they premier in Japan. The issue with the fansubs come from people being stupid and impatient to watch the legal stream for free a week later. And I do seriously doubt the fansubs have better translations than the streams - I personally like the subtitles on the legal stream versus those of a fansub. Also, for those with lack of an entertainment system essentially for their computer (such as myself and my laptop), if it's in HD quality or not doesn't matter.

I will continue to support Miku. I own, yes own my DVD of the original 39 Givings Day concert, re: Package CD (great packaging w/ mini poster), and have bought slews of songs from Hear Japan including supercell material. I do wish they would offer an "old fashioned" tangible copy instead of all digital though.

My only gripe with this is, "Supercell this & Supercell that" like Supercell has the monopoly rights to Hatsune Miku, or any vocaloid songs when granted a few of Supercell's releases are good, there are FAR MORE AND BETTER artists who's releases surpass, and in some cases blows the doors off any of Supercell's to date, but not everyone realises that only one of their songs " World is Mine" was performed at the 39's Giving Day concert, the rest was from some of these others I've mentioned before, Like Tripshots, Oneroom, and AVTechNo just to name a few from hundreds, all available to purchase either physically, or digitally at KarenT.jp, but none has the backing of a global corporation like Sony behind them, which to me is probably the reason the others are so much better, but that is just me. Wink
In short Supercell might (and I do stress might ) make Miku popular in the US, but keep in mind Hatsune Miku is no way just Supercell. In my exhaustive research I have found all vocaloids including Miku can sing every genre of music in existance just as good, or better than what is just heard from Supercell's pop style. I'm still waiting to hear the alleged English version of Miku to make a judgement about that. If it's as good as, or better than Megurine Luka who was programmed to sing in English from the start, that would be great and will further the popularity of them both round the world. IMHO. Wink
