director Katsuyuki Motohiro

That was quite unexpected up until now the fellow seems to have worked only on live action projects,I wonder how he will deal with the animation.What is positive about this is that he has done a lot of police dramas and apparently his work is acclaimed and very popular.
I also wonder does this mean anything to the budget of the anime?

He's the chief director, which probably means he is in charge of the overall project, bringing his experience with cop dramas and movies to the picture, working with Urobuchi on the script, planning the characters, etc.

The actual director on the show will be Shiotani. He'll be the one coordinating the actual animation production, storyboards, working with the animators, and the voice recording sessions, etc. Shiotani has been talking about working on the show without actually naming it for over a month now.

Oh,that sounds a lot better.I never really knew what the difference between chief director and director is.I can see that people have a put lot of work in this anime ,I hope that in the end it pays off.

You're right, Katsuyuki Motohiro is the chief director and Shiotani the director.

In addition, that image reveals the main cast and the characters: http://psycho-pass.com/img/bg_wrapper_120906.jpgç

Seki Tomokazu as Shinya Kougami;
Kana Hanazawa as Akane Tsunemori
Kenji Nojima as Nobuchika Ginoza
Akira Ishida as Shuusei Kagari
Ito Shizuka as Yayoi Kunizuka
Miyuki Sawashiro as Shion Karanomori
Kinryuu Arimoto as Tomomi Masaoka.

HOLY SHIT!!!

I knew it!

I knew that this was one of the two original projects that Gen Urobuchi is working on! (It was either that or 'K")

He's by far my favorite anime screenwriter, especially after Fate/Zero and Madoka!
