Here are my thoughts that I posted a few weeks ago:

Strike Witches 1
I had some high hopes for this as the anime seemed to be rated quite highly - its not a series I would normally go for but wanted to give it a chance. I must say its full of lazy writing and everything seems very casual seeming as they are in the middle of a war. The battle at the end lacked action; I was very frustrated at the fact that the little action there was was cut short by spoiler[Miyafuji passing out], it just seemed like a very easy way out of not having to explain how they spoiler[destroyed this creature that could not be killed before. ] This series seems to be cute girls trying to make war cute with their cute familiars which give them cute animal ears... Rolling Eyes I like cute but not in a war.

Should I pick up volume two? Confused

I think Strike Witches does a good job reminding us that this is meant to be a more lighthearted series, and that we shouldn't be taking it too seriously. The wars we are used to involves humans killing humans, but in this fictional universe, humans are fighting an alien menace, and that's what's maintaining some of the innocence in the story.

I am obviously biased, but if you can understand what I was trying to say, than the cuteness factor shouldn't be a big deal at all. I have both volumes and look forward to Seven Seas releasing the other manga.

What a coincidence, I just bought this volume last week. I love strike witches, so its only natural I'd collect the manga. Its a shame they started with this series. The manga is nice and fun, but I prefer the artwork of The Sky That Connects Us and One Winged Angel (2015 release. so long!). Still, its a nice addition to my collection. vol 2, here i come!
