I'm glad that One Piece has sold 1,4mln even if it was out on 27th December so it includes only two days.

I was expecting volume 76 of One Piece to have a good run, but since it sold more than 2nd through 7th place combined, it definitely was one of the most anticipated end of the year releases. Given that the Dressrosa arc is hopefully coming to a close this year, I'm sure people are eager to see what Oda has in store. I'd like to see the full list of the popularity contest too, that was so much fun!

Wasn't it released on 26th December? Not that it really makes a difference, I'm just curious. ^^

At any case, I'm enjoying Dressrosa a lot, as I already wrote in a different but still OP-related thread. I'll miss it when it'll end even if it has been the longer story arc so far (I'm up-to-date with the Japanese chapters, but also buy the Italian volumes when they come out, and in this particular volume Oda-sensei changed a couple of significant panels about spoiler[Doflamingo's past], other than other minor things; I wonder why he did it since I find the character and their story quite interesting).

Are those good numbers for Akatsuki no Yona? I'm rooting for it!

What? Out of the arc's (current) chapter count of 72, about 12-14 or so were flashbacks. That's less than 20% of the arc's total length (and it's still ongoing).

Back to topic: I knew One Piece can (and has) move a lot of units, but 1.4 million in just 2 days!? A quick calculation give us an estimated average of 720,884 per day. Assuming this rate will be kept for the next week, we'll see One Piece with a sales figure of about 5,046,188.

i don't believe it will, OP always sells a lot in the first week ( and after ) but i don't believe this volume will sell more than 3M before falling from the charts ( which is huge ). in fact it may not reach the 3M mark.

fans of OP seem to rush in buying the new volumes but there is a limit to the size of the fanbase who buy each volume ( around 3 million i guess ) so my bet is on it selling around 600 - 700 K next week

[...]

I would also like to add that the flashbacks, and especially one of them (spoiler[Law's]), are great (that specific one I mentioned introduced a new character that has become a new fan-favourite in less than 10 chapters--I still can't believe how much I love this character, don't get me started on that!)
