Boy, so many great releases this week. I'm also a fan of The Chronicles... I watched it on CR, not expecting much, but found myself laughing out loud at least once every episode. I agree that it's no masterpiece, but something about it tickles my funny bone.

As always, thanks for the reviews!

Happy to see Outbreak Company is shelf worthy. It's been awhile since I last saw it, and I really did enjoy it. But, sadly, it (like many others) was hurt with the open ending. Many series, that I enjoy, have endings that just feel too open to me...so I don't end up buying them.

Reason being, if I know that not everything is resolved (or not to my satisfaction), I'll not want to rewatch it. I hope this gets a 2nd season, for that reason alone. Laughing

that was definitely a surprise to me. its a good series but i was so sure it would have gotten the rental or perishable shelf cause of the ecchi/fanservice in it. sure its no DxD when it came to fanservice but its there and at times series like that are given the rental shelf or even perishable. luckily the series have a very good storyline and a not too shabby english dub. definitely better than highschool of the dead.

I haven't thought too much about this show since 2004, but I remember liking it well enough to watch the whole thing, and accepting it as a fun entry in the .hack franchise. The characters are a lot more cutesy this time around, but the story is reasonably engrossing
unfortunately while key of the twilight was good , lots of people definitely didn't like it cause of the mild fanservice.not to mention the whole lolicon and incest aspect between the two siblings shugo and reina.

its was even more so in the Tokyopop manga version when she goes into jealous mode when any other girl than her kisses him.

"Space Dandy is, from start to finish, a joyous and energetic celebration of the animated medium."

Counterpoint: Space Dandy is a tedious, childish, un-funny show that is a chore to get through.

Some episodes of Dandy were stronger than others. I mostly found the show amusing and chortle-worthy, but the comedy was never the strongest suit over the bizarre.

The show had a lot of variety to offer. And while the humor is of course typically subjective to one's personal tastes, I can always respect something that attempts to be creative and different, regardless of how much it succeeds in the end (a bit of context, I really loved the show). But to me, the very best episodes of Space Dandy were the ones that ventured into thematically risky and dark territories. The stand out here would definitely have to be A World Without Sadness. And I would never call that episode childish. It's far, FAR from it. That's one of my favorite stand alone episodes of anything, anime or not. The show could be very serious at times, I always like to describe it as "a smart show that likes to act dumb." Also, I believe that the episode I Can't Be the Only One is one of the funniest episodes of any show that's aired in a long time (FOR ME that is). I just really think the series deserves another season (or a movie). There's just so much more untapped potential in that universe. And since spoiler[every universe always resets anyway,] the possibilities for storylines are pretty much endless.

Whatever dude. Sorry that I don't like everything you like, that I don't drink the koolade.

You like it? Great. I though the show was pure shite. But don't call me an idiot for a [expletive] opinion.

It's not that you don't like everything I like. You really think I'm that much of a conformist? It's your whole "Hey, look! I'm different!" attitude that throws me off. As it does with a lot of people in the fandom. You really think hating on popular anime isn't a common practice in the anime community? Don't try to turn this around and make it sound like you're the victim here or anything. If anything, the people who enjoy said shows are the ones to be pitied. You can't even openly like something like Sword Art Online without being labelled as having "sh*t taste" or being bombarded with some terrible pun like "Moar like Sh*t Taste Online, amiright? top lel." I don't like the show at all, but I'm not obnoxious about it.

And when did I call you an idiot? I didn't say anything of the sort. And I don't even like cool-Aid. Gives me massive diarrhea.
