Kudos to Despicable Me, though I am not interesting in watching as looks stupid to me.

I don't know if I should be glad or sad about Junjou being a flop. On the one side it's nice to see Nakamura's trash isn't selling like pancakes anymore, but on the other side, I'm worried studios will stop looking at BL manga to animate now that their biggest seller tanked so badly

@ Crowlia
I suppose we should wait a bit more for SS (Soundscan) datas, or the next volumes sales to determine how much drop its had this season since there's some weird situations regarding majority of the sales on 25/9 releases where there's probably some of Amazon Exclusive edtion that's missing, just look at Kurobasu and Deremas sales among others. I assume since it's been like what...7 years, its huge drop is reasonable (just look at Drrr or Working, other 2 successfull franchises that sold more compare to JR), though if there's some errors I'm still expecting around probably 1.5-2K+ numbers.

In terms of manga sales, Nakamura's titles are still one of the best seller (if you actively follow Oricon from few years ago) in BL genres, followed by Ten Count (around 100+K), then Super lovers (around 50-80K per vol), with the exception of What Did You Eat Yesterday (Kino Nani Tabe ta) which sold around 200K without anime, though its more josei-slice of life with gay main characters/couple. While others, mainly still fluctuating around 20-30K (I think Honto Yajuu and others also sold around that numbers or even bellow that) and considering Kadokawa is still the only active publisher that keep pushing their BL titles to be made into tv anime, I'm assuming with the exception of Ten Count, the chances of other titles are still quite abysmall. I say rather than tv anime, LA adaptation is a lot more probable.

I thought it's the same article twice, but then I notice "DVD" and "Blu-ray".

Yeah, I guess you're right. I just continue to be baffled at seeing crappy abusive BL manga like Nakamura's stuff and Ten Count topping the charts while healthy stuff like Yamamoto Kotetsuko's gets mostly ignored

It's no different than straight romance, I'd think...And not even limited to manga and anime. It's just so much easier to extract melodrama from an unhealthy relationship, and melodrama sells.

That's why you see reactions to a show like Snow White with the Red Hair of "Oh my god, they actually communicate! ...This is boring."

It's just a lot more noticeable in BL because the notion of "rape is romantic!" is so disturbingly widespread there. I'd kill for more of the healthy stuff to get animated.
