Maybe this article is about the home-media listing of 2 Blu-Ray sets? Because it was announced a while ago that it will run for 25 episodes... IDK.

I'm just glad we're hearing these episode count numbers at all. Usually we have to go into episode 12/13 and wonder if it'll be the last episode or not.

That's actually very rare if you keep yourself updated.

I also hear the game isn't "over" and there's already a sequel planned, wonder if that'll get an anime, somewhat unlikely I'd say, unless this somehow does really well I guess.

Not that unlikely. The first Utawarerumono, and its 'sister' game, Aquaplus's Tears to Tiara, both have had anime adaptations, and both 2-cour as well. On the other hand, Tears to Tiara 2 hasn't had one yet, but I wouldn't be overly surprised should one appear.

As for the second part, I think you're underestimating exactly how popular Utawarerumono is in Japan, for example this one sold 100 000 copies in five days...

Well, that seems like enough time. And after all this is done will we get some side OVAs like with the older series. To be honest I wish that ADV when they first released the first series that they had added the "extras" features. Those small skits were hilarious.

Director of School Days and Date Alive.

Jesus. No wonder why they changed Kuon's character. It just feel weird to me. Kuon in the game is much more mature and mysterious.
