Sega Aims to Release Games Simultaneously Worldwide by 2020

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

Sega Sammy Holdings revealed in its 2018 integrated report in September that it will aim to release games with localized versions simultaneously worldwide as part of its "Road to 2020" project. The report noted that Sega already has several localization studios, including Atlus' California studio, and that games in development already share content with localization teams even during development in order to decrease the time between the game's Japanese and overseas release.

Sega recently released Valkyria Chronicles 4 in Japan in March, with an English version in September. The company is also developing a new Sakura Wars game, as well as a "Mega Drive Mini" console that is slated for a worldwide release in 2019.
