Trivia:

The character of Priss was named after the Nexus 6 replicant of the same name in the film "Blade Runner". Her band, The Replicants, is also taken from the same film.

At the start of episode 3, Quincy and Mason look at a map of Mega Tokyo. This map has captions on it which include names of many actors and characters from the movie Top Gun such as Val Kilmer, Meg Ryan, Tom Cruise etc.

Surprisingly, the opening "Mysterious Night" (fifth episode) reminds of another song, a French pop song from 1984 (four years before this episode was broadcast), called "Johnny, Johnny", performed by Jeanne Mas. The similar points are in the musical parts (e.g. the intro) and in the music of the refrain...

In part 1, Tinsel City, the opening sequence is heavily influenced by Blade Runner's opening, even down to the accompanying incidental song.

Later on, the visual of Priss performing "There's a Hurricane Tonight" borrows immensely from the opening scene of the 1984 Walter Hill movie Streets of Fire.

Originally, Priss was scheduled to die in the sixth episode, Red Eyes. In addition, Reika 'Vision' Chang was going to take her place in the Knight Sabers. However, due to the popularity of Priss' character, it was rewritten so that she would live and Reika was changed to a one-episode character. Scenes in the music video that show Reika in Double Vision show what could have been had Priss been killed off.

In Episode 8 (at about 13:45) when Lisa Vanette is checking who was meant to be on duty the names of American comic book and fantasy/sci-fi artists Richard Corben and Frank Frazetta are down for the first shift.
