Trivia:

Onizuka's shirt reads "GOD SPEED YOU," which is a reference to God Speed You! Black Emperor, a 1976 documentary film about an infamous bousouzoku (biker gang) known as the Black Emperors. A Canadian rock band also named themselves after the film.

Some scenes of the character of Yamaguchi Rika are based off a character from the anime/manga, Kanzaki Urumi. Like when Onizuka thinks he kills her and tries to bury her in Mount Fuji, and when she uses Onizuka as her genie.

There is a scene where Yuka, Rika and Moe sing "Poison" (op song made by Takashi Sorimachi a.k.a. Eikichi Onizuka) in karaoke club. Eikichi comments this: "Don't sing someone's song without permission, sheesh."
