Rock Band Linkin Park Turned Into Nendoroid Figures

Be@rbrick figures also to be sold at charity Tokyo art show on September 9

The six members of the Grammy Award-winning American rock band Linkin Park will be turned into Nendoroid Petit figures as part of a charity art show event to support the victims of the March 11 Great Eastern Japan Earthquake (Higashi Nihon Daishinsai) disaster.

Good Smile Company is hosting "A Thousand Horizons" event (named after the band's 2010 album A Thousand Suns) as part of its 10th anniversary celebration. The company will create deformed Nendoroid Petit figures of the band's six members — Chester Bennington, Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave "Phoenix" Farrell, Rob Bourdon, and Joe Hahn — to sell at the event. In addition to Nendoroid figures, a special Linkin Park Be@rbrick figure, iPhone 4 case, "threeA" toys, and T-shirts will be sold at the show. The event's official website is currently streaming a promotional video.

The event itself will be held at the NicoFarre event hall in Tokyo on September 9. The show will be streamed live on both Nico Nico Douga and its English website Niconico.com.

Portions of the proceeds from ticket and goods sales will be donated the charity organization "Music for Relief" to benefit children affected by the disaster.

Linkin Park's song "The Catalyst" from the A Thousand Suns album was used in the opening movie of the Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. arcade game. The band's earlier music video for its song "Breaking the Habit" involved animator Kazuto Nakazawa (Kill Bill Chapter 3: The Origin of O-Ren, Samurai Champloo, Genius Party Beyond's "Moondrive") and Tokyo-based G.D.H. International. The song also inspired a graphic novel by Tokyopop. The video won the 2004 MTV Viewers Choice Award.

Linkin Park's DJ Joe Hahn also remixed supercell's "Black Rock Shooter" song, included on a bonus extra stop-motion video on the retail Special Edition of the Black Rock Shooter anime.
