Singer-Songwriter SKY-HI Makes Voice-Acting Debut in Koguma no Cake-ya-san Manga Ad
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Dance and vocal group AAA member and singer-songwriter SKY-HI (Gundam Build Divers, Gurazeni theme songs; seen below) made his voice-acting debut in a commercial for Kamentotsu's Koguma no Cake-ya-san (Koguma's Cake Shop) manga. In the video, SKY-HI plays the bear cub cake shop manager, and voice actor Natsuki Hanae plays the shop employee who watches over him. Shogakukan's Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine began streaming the video on Monday.
The "pudding a la mode" video begins with the shop employee saying, "This is a certain cake shop. Actually, the shop manager is a very hard-working bear cub." The busy bear cub then says, "Wait, please!" as if he is talking to a customer. After the pair introduces the manga, the video ends with Hanae's character explaining that the bear cub cannot say "pudding a la mode."
Hanae also posted a picture on Twitter to show his followers the illustration he received from Kamentotsu at the time of the recording. The image features the manga's main characters in glasses apparently inspired by Hanae's own.

Another "special video" starring the duo is slated to premiere in late April.
Kamentotsu began releasing the four-panel manga on Twitter in November, and Shogakukan released a compiled book volume on March 2. The volume has more than 180,000 copies in print.
